Power Outage in Vancouver!

Life 3 Comments »

Today is the second day of power outage in Vancouver. I am not able to work in the last 2 days because my office is closed. There are some offices at the downtown area that are affected. BC Hydro mentioned that around 2,200 customers have no power since yesterday morning.

This morning, I went to my office hoping that my office’s building is back to normal. Unfortunately, it is not open yet. Anyway, since I cannot go inside my building, I just walked around and took some pictures. The first picture below is taken at Pacific Centre, the largest shopping mall in Vancouver downtown area.

The second one was taken at Grand&Toy store, Canada’s largest office supply store. Their employees were not able to enter the building this morning.

Where the Hell is Matt?

Fun 2 Comments »

Matt is a crazy guy from the US who decided to quit his job as game programmer and travel all around the world. On each place that he visited, he did a stupid dance. Matt said that it is the only dance he can perform. :) Then, he created a video that contains his dance on all places that he has visited. The video got very popular on the Internet and he even got a sponsor to pay for his second trip.

Enjoy his videos!

We are in Recession!

We are now officially in recession although some people said it’s been obvious since a couple of months ago. What can we do? I don’t know. :(

Recently, I read the latest report from S&P/Case-Shiller about US home prices. Bespoke has summarize the report in a very nice graph (see below).

I also read a report about UK house price forecast from The Market Oracle (see below). They predicted the housing price in the UK will drop 15% over the next 2 years (minimum). It’s very scary, isn’t it?

How about Canada? Dr. Sherry Cooper from BMO Capital Markets published a prediction about home price in Canada. If you look at the chart below, she is saying that Canadian housing market is two years behind the US counterpart.
