I don’t normally write a posting about the company where I’m working, Research in Motion. Unfortunately, I can’t resist posting this one because it is also related to my home country, Indonesia.
Chris Umiastowski from TD Newcrest has just released a video about BlackBerry Growth in Indonesia. Here is the summary:
There are currently about 200,000 BlackBerry subscribers in Indonesia.
BlackBerry subscribers grew ~450% in 2008.
Indonesia could have +1 million BlackBerry subscribers by end of this year.
Many people are wondering whether current bull market is a real bull market. The S&P 500 index has been up more than 30% since its March low. The index of my home country, Indonesia, has been up more than 70% since its October low. We have seen one of the best rallies in history.
The $1 million question is: where do we go from here? Are we going to test March low? Nobody knows… (I guess). What we can do is comparing the current recession with previous ones. New York Times has a very nice interactive chart to compare current bear market with 1932, 1942, 1974, 1987 and 2002.
I bought my first digital SLR camera in December 2007 as Christmas present for myself. I took a digital photography class for beginner in early 2008. Yeah… it’s a real beginner class. They even teach us how to hold SLR camera properly on the first day.
Recently, I just realized that I have taken more than 7500 pictures since 2007. Here is my 7500th picture:
It is not a spectacular picture. I didn’t make any special preparation for this picture. I didn’t even know that I was going to take my 7500th picture.
Where did I take this picture? It was taken in Niagara on the Lake. No… no…. it is not at the Falls of Niagara. Niagara on the Lake is a beautiful small city in Ontario, Canada. It is about 30 minutes drive from the Falls of Niagara.
Anyway… I am looking forward for my 10,000th picture.
