Today, we visited Richmond Olympic Oval. What? Olympic? Oval? Well, Richmond Olympic Oval is a new building located at Richmond (20 km from Vancouver). It is going to be used for long-track speed skating competition on Vancouver 2010 Winter Games Olympic.
What’s special today? The building is open for public today (as well as tomorrow). We can see how the building before the Olympic games in 14 months. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my real camera; so I could only took pictures from my Nokia N96. Next time, I’ll bring my camera to take better pictures.
The first picture is the building from front. They spent $178 million to develop this building.
The second one is the picture of the building near the entrance.
The last one is the picture from inside. I wish I could play ice-skating….

It sounds crazy; but I have received several voice calls from +1-888-556-5140 the last 3 days. They said that they are from ICT Group and hired by my bank. They are offering credit card protection services, for example if we lost our wallet when we’re traveling.
On the first call, they explained about their protection services for about 2-3 minutes. I said that I am not interested. They keep telling me about their services. I said again that I am not interested. Surprisingly, they keep telling me about the advantages of having their services. Oh boy…
The next day, they called again (not the same person though). I am just tired with them already. So I asked them, “How do I know if you are really ICT?” They said that they have been hired by my bank. Then, I repeated my question, “How do I know if you are really hired by my bank? How do I know if you are not trying to steal my identity?” Finally, they gave me a number to call. I believe it is VISA call center number.
Today, they called me again. I just ignored the call. A couple of hours later, they called me again. Oh boy… don’t they have someone else to call?

Finally, I am back in Canada… Tomorrow, I have to start working again after being away for about a week. Business as usual. Btw, the picture above is nasi uduk (steamed rice with coconut milk). I ate it at the Jakarta International Airport on the way back to Canada.
So… what’s the update from me?
- As you know, my dad passed away in Solo, Indonesia last week. I flew to Indonesia on Saturday.
- My dad’s body was cremated and the cremated was sprinkled in the sea. It was our family decision to do cremation, instead of funeral.
- I met my step-brother and step-sister for the first time in Solo. They are from my dad’s younger wife. I heard about them; but never actually met them.
- I am so tired and exhausted now.
