Google – 666

Honestly, I own a few Google shares (GOOG). Unfortunately I bought them quite late; that’s why I am not rich yet. :)

Anyway, I was surprise looking at GOOG’s closing price today. It was $666. Is it a good sign or a bad sign?

Getting Mad with Windows Vista and Office 2007

Geek No Comments »

I spent the whole last night fixing installation problem with my Microsoft Office 2007 installation on Windows Vista. It really drove me crazy. Each time I tried to re-install Office 2007, I got the following error message:

Error 2203. An internal error has occured. (C:\Windows\Installer\de507.ipi -2147287035) Contact Microsoft Product Services (PSS) for assistance. For information about how to contact PSS, see C:\…\PSS10R.CHM

Installation Error on Microsoft Office 2007

This is a really stupid error message. I couldn’t find PSS10R.CHM file on my file system. So, how could I contact Microsoft Product Support Services? Is it a joke?

After spending hours, I gave up. As usual, when I hit a problem, I always googled it. I found some pages that discuss the same error. One of them is from Microsoft Support. It was completely useless. The solution described there didn’t help me at all.

After browsing to some other pages, I found one useful page at TechArena Forum. There was a guy from Microsoft Online Partner Support who provides very useful information. Thanks Leon for providing the hint!

My problem was solved by running Windows Installer Cleanup utility and remove all Office 2007 files and registry.

Google Everything

Google

My friend, Theresia, just tagged me on Facebook’s Superlatives application that I am a person who most likely to Google everything. Well, I think not only me who does that.

There is no doubt that Google has become part of our life. Google has also become the fifth largest company in the United States in 11 years. TechCrunch predicted that they will likely to become the largest company by approximately October 2009.

So…. what would be our life 5 years from now? Lynnette Luna from Fierce Wireless describes it very nicely.

I had a dream that Google took over the world. I was drinking Google soda, brushing my teeth with Google toothpaste, glancing at my Google-branded watch and of course talking on my Google phone. Needless to say, I woke up in a cold sweat. Google sure made the most of its incredible market capitalization….

The top search engines usually prefer startlogic and aplus contributions. Another good web hosting option is the ipowerweb.
