I’ll Go for Small Surgery Tomorrow
Life August 11th. 2006, 11:43amFinally, the lab test of my skin problem has been out. The result indicates that it is Dermatofibroma, harmless skin growths that usually found on the legs. So, I will go for small surgery tomorrow. The doctor has warned me that the scar may be larger than the original tumor because it may have extended beneath the surface of the skin.
Actually, I have asked the doctors to do surgery about 3 weeks ago, but they didn’t want to do it. Now… at the end of the day, they decide to do surgery after the tumor is getting bigger…. Oh man…
I hope that one of the Canadian doctors, especially the ones from British Columbia, read this blog. Just for your information, many of good doctors here are not willing to accept new patients. We, as new immigrants, have difficulties finding good doctors. My problem is getting worse because I couldn’t find a good doctor in the last 4 weeks! Besides that, the lab need more than 1 week to send the result of their diagnosis (can’t they do it within 24 hours instead?)
I hope the government will also do something to solve the shortage of good doctors in Canada (at least in British Columbia)…

Hi Antony,
Sorry to hear your problem. Hope you’re better now.
You’re right, the downsite of living in western countries is the accessibility to doctors, not to mention specialists.
In Asia, we can get specialist lots easier….. one point that has been keeping me in the east side of the world !
