Permanent Residence Application in Canada
Life July 18th. 2006, 10:58pmLast year, I applied for a permanent residence in Canada via BC PNP (British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program). BC PNP is a special immigration program designed to allow BC to increase the economic benefits of immigration to the province.
Compared to the normal immigration program via CIC (Citizenship and Immigration of Canada), PNP processing is guaranteed to be faster. I have heard that PR application via CIC usually take more than 1 year; while PNP only 6 months. Don’t ask me why they need 1 year to approve a normal PR application.
Two days ago, I contacted PNP office asking the status of my application. Guess what… they said that they could not locate my case. Somehow they lost my application when moving from the old office (in Victoria) to the office (in Vancouver). Oh no…
What to do next? They suggested me to re-submit the copy of my application. Isn’t it interesting? I have paid $550 for my application and this is how they handle my case.
O, Canada… I am really tired with this country…. ![]()

Normally, it should take no more than 6 months. I have submitted my PNP application in November 2005. A couple of days ago, I called PNP office asking about the status of my application. What was their answer? They couldn’t locate my application because they lost it. At the end of the day, they asked me to re-submit my application. [...]
