My First Check from Google AdSense
Career July 2nd. 2006, 3:32pmA couple weeks ago, I received a PIN (Personal Identification Number) from Google AdSense via post mail to release my payment hold. For you who are using AdSense may already know that this means my earnings at AdSense have reached $50.

Why does Google need to send out PIN to release our payment hold after our earnings have reached $50? I think the reason is because they want to verify the addresses of AdSense publishers. It could be it is for taxation purposes as well. They don’t want to send PIN to every AdSense publishers because most of them don’t actually make money. So it doesn’t make sense spending money sending PIN via post mail to publishers who generate only $0.xx every month.
I won’t disclose my earnings with AdSense. There are two things that I can disclose right now:
- I am going to receive my first check from AdSense this month.
- I still cannot make my living from AdSense only. I still need a full-time job…
Anyway I am also wondering how some other bloggers can generate six figure earnings from AdSense. Darren Rowsee, the author of ProBlogger, is one of them.

[...] Google AdSense. I use AdSense to monetize my web site and my blogs. Although it generates money for me, I still cannot make a living from it yet. Fortunately, after doing some optimization, my income from AdSense has increased significantly. [...]

@singer bonnie: Interesting experience. I also notice that Google’s customer experience is not that good.
